What to do if a student has no device?

Student NEVER RECEIVED a chromebook?
  • Every school has an inventory of devices to replace broken devices and assign to new students
Student comes to class without a Chromebook (forgot at home or not charged)?
  • The expectation is that Chromebook are brought to school every day charged and ready to learn.
  • Lenders are provided at each school at the discretion of school administration
Student has a broken or damaged chromebook?
  • All devices are covered by accidental damage protection
  • Replacement devices are provided at every school
What to do if a device is lost or stolen?
  • Loss and intentional damage is not covered by our accidental damage protection warranty
  • Report loss to building administration as soon as possible
  • Loss and theft of Chromebooks and chargers will incur the following fees:

$275 Chromebook ($40 charger)

$400 iPad ($50 charger)

  • Fees must be paid before a replacement device will be provided and loaners are only available while devices are being repaired. Fees are added to student obligations and will be required before students can transfer or graduate.

Are there any fees for the program?
  • There are no mandatory fees to enroll in the program or for accidental damage through normal use.
  • Damage or loss of the Chromebook or charger as a result of improper use could result in disciplinary action, fees, or both at the discretion of the administration. See Chromebook Agreement
Should I purchase a protective case for my Chromebook?

Yes, we highly recommend that everyone purchase a protective and water resistant case for your new Chromebook and have it with you when picking up the device.

Students receive HP Chromebook GX Education Edition devices and should check current model for case compatibility

Will all devices go home?

Yes, every student is assigned a device that should be charged and brought back and forth to school every day. Equity includes opportunities outside the school day. 

What resources are available to assist families with no access to the internet at home?
Will devices be filtered at home?

Yes, all devices will comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) SEE AUP

Will students be allowed to opt out of the 1:1 program?

There is currently no option to opt out of the program.

Can students bring in personal devices instead of the district provided device?

We do not support personal devices
